Call: Virtual Mobility Space in Higher Education

The Virtual Mobility Space in Higher Education (eMOVIES) is an initiative led by the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE), which offers participating higher education institutions (HEI) an alternative to traditional mobility models to promote international academic exchanges in higher education, by giving students the opportunity to take courses in virtual or distance mode offered by other IOHE Member Institutions. In accordance with the principles of membership, participants will be able to receive credits for the courses or subjects taken in accordance with the prerequisites and academic criteria previously established by their home institutions.

More specifically, eMOVIES consists of a consortium of IOHE Members, where each voluntarily HEI makes available to the consortium a number of places in online courses or subjects, so that each participating institution can define a student exchange plan in accordance with the offer available within the consortium. Each institution sets the conditions or requirements for receiving students from the exchange and undertakes to issue the corresponding certificate or recognition to those who have fulfilled the required academic and/or administrative requirements. The exchange is governed by a principle of collaboration and reciprocity that does not involve any cost to the student enrolled in the exchange.
