The new special of the Somos Iberoamérica web, which is dedicated to “Ibero-America in the age of knowledge“. This edition, which coincides with World Higher Education Week and UNESCO’s World Conference on Higher Education, analyzes the importance of betting on science, technology and innovation, together with higher education to move towards a new and better time.

Francesc Pedró explains in this issue why today is so important “Higher Education in a sustainable world” and how universities must adapt and help build a new and better normality.

“To talk about higher education is also to talk about inclusion, social justice, equity, development and democracy,” said the Ibero-American Secretary General, Andrés Allamand, at the Ibero-American-European Union Meeting: a shared look at the future of higher education,” which is being held as part of the 3rd World Conference on Higher Education (WCHE 2022).

Other contributors include the Minister of Science and Technology of Argentina, Daniel Filmus; the Mexican physicist Lilia Meza Montes and the Director of UNESCO-IESALC, Francesc Pedró, who, together with other collaborators, share their valuable experiences and opinions.
