The UNESCO’s International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC) is running a major public consultation as part of the Futures of Higher Education initiative until 31 July. The survey is brief, open to all, and available in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.

The Futures of Higher Education initiative’s main objective is to stimulate creative and imaginative thinking and ideas about the futures of higher education to 2050. The project takes a global perspective, nurturing discussions around the role of higher education as part of UNESCO’s larger Futures of Education initiative, and it will innovatively generate a range of new perspectives on the futures of higher education based on expert and public consultations, youth focus groups, and a multilingual literature review.

The two guiding questions for the project are: How would you like higher education to be in 2050? How could higher education contribute to better futures for all in 2050?

This initiative started in 2019 and has consulted a million people around the world. It will result in a report to be published in November 2021.
