Ordinance for the validation and revalidation of degrees and certificates obtained abroad

Central Board of Directors of the Universidad de la República

Documentation required in order to initiate the recognition process

1. Certificate of academic validation issued by the Universidad de la República. This document is not required if the interested party applies for both validation and revalidation.

2. Copy authenticated by the institution of origin, of the study plan and the programs of the subjects taken.

3. Legalized or apostilled documents accrediting the completion of postgraduate studies, continuing education activities or continuing professional practice, in case the petitioner incorporates these studies or activities to be taken into account in order to evaluate the existence of reasonable equivalence.

If the above-mentioned documents are submitted in a language other than Spanish, they must be translated by a certified national translator, and a consular translation is also admissible.
