Los recortes en ciencia sacuden a América Latina / El País

Los recortes presupuestarios y la baja inversión en ciencia, tecnología e innovación se han convertido en tendencia en la región, causando daños a la investigación y a la sociedad en su conjunto, impedida de beneficiarse de las innovaciones tecnológicas para el desarrollo. Una de las causas de esta situación se atribuye al desconocimiento generalizado de la población y de los políticos respecto del papel de la investigación científica, trayendo como resultado la muerte de las líneas de investigación en las universidades y la fuga de cerebros.

El reportaje cita ejemplos de Argentina, Brasil, Perú y Venezuela, donde investigaciones inconclusas por falta de fondos impiden que la población aproveche sus beneficios.
