Webinar Financial support for higher education students in Latin America and the Caribbean during the pandemic: challenges and responses

On July 9, 2021, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO IESALC) and the Pan American Association of Educational Credit Institutions (APICE), will present the study Financial Support for Higher Education Students in Latin America and the Caribbean during the Pandemic: Challenges and Responses, which recounts and analyzes the actions taken by the main actors in student financing in the region – Governments, Educational Credit Institutions and Higher Education Institutions – to help students in light of the pandemic and explores different alternatives and policies to help countries […]

On July 9, 2021, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO IESALC) and the Pan American Association of Educational Credit Institutions (APICE), will present the study Financial Support for Higher Education Students in Latin America and the Caribbean during the Pandemic: Challenges and Responses, which recounts and analyzes the actions taken by the main actors in student financing in the region – Governments, Educational Credit Institutions and Higher Education Institutions – to help students in light of the pandemic and explores different alternatives and policies to help countries re-imagine higher education financing systems.

This virtual meeting will count on the participation of Mercedes Mateo, IDB Education Division Chief; Gema Sacristan, Chief Investment office IDB-Invest; Elena Arias Ortiz, IDB Senior Specialist; Gregoria Elacqua, IDB Lead Specialist; Maria Fe Sanchez, Ministry of Education of Peru; Sandra Almeida, Rector of the Federal University of Minas Gerais; Jorge Tellez, Executive Director of APICE; Enrique Prieto Flores, President of EDUCAFIN and Francesc Pedró, Director of the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO IESALC).
