IESALC WEBINAR ADDRESSES NON-CONVENTIONAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL HIGHER EDUCATION

The UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean and the UNESCO Chair for Quality Assurance and new providers of higher education, invite to the webinar Non-university and technological higher education: diversification and innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean, by Professor Sylvie Didou, which will be held on January 30, 2020 at 10:00 am EST.

The occasion will be conducive to reflect on the contribution of the unconventional and technological sector to the field of higher education, in particular to the areas of equity, inclusion, bonding and accreditation, guided by Professor Sylvie Didou, head of the said UNESCO Chair of the Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados- Cinvestav, Mexico (Center for Research and Advanced Studies).

Sylvie Didou holds a Phd in Sociology at the School of Higher Studies in Social Sciences, Paris, France and is a researcher at Cinvestav, in Mexico, since 1996. Her lines of research deal with public and institutional policies in higher education and science (internationalization, equity, inter-culturality and knowledge transfer). She has published more than 200 scientific and dissemination articles and about 30 books.

This webinar is the second of a series scheduled within the framework of the celebration of International Education Day 2020. It will feature the participation of UNESCO Chairs on higher education at an international level with the aim of disseminating their institutions’ experiences and contributions towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
