The fourth preparatory meeting for CRES+5 will be held in Havana (Cuba) on February 7 and 8, 2024

The UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC), the Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba, and the Latin American and Caribbean Higher Education Area (ENLACES), convene the fourth preparatory meeting towards the Regional Conference on Higher Education (CRES+5). This preparatory meeting will be held in Havana, Cuba, on February 7 and 8, 2024, within the framework of the University 2024 Congress.

This fourth preparatory meeting will present the progress made by the working groups on the 12 thematic areas of follow-up to the Regional Conference on Higher Education 2018 (CRES+5).

This fourth preparatory meeting of CRES+5 will serve to deepen the issues raised at CRES 2018, as well as to analyze the outcome of the debates corresponding to the preparatory meetings that preceded it in Cordoba, Puebla and Paraguay, with a view to reaching a consensus on an agenda for higher education in Latin America and the Caribbean that will contribute to the preparation of CRES+5.

With the support of UNESCO IESALC, various working groups have prepared drafts of the working documents for the different thematic areas of CRES+5. These drafts will be presented and discussed at the Havana meeting.

Los días 7 y 8 de febrero de 2024 se presentarán los avances de los grupos de trabajo en torno a los 12 ejes temáticos de seguimiento a la Conferencia Regional de Educación Superior 2018 (CRES+5) en el marco del Congreso Universidad 2024.

El Instituto Internacional de la UNESCO para la Educación Superior en América Latina y el Caribe (IESALC), el Ministerio de Educación Superior de Cuba, y el Espacio Latinoamericano y Caribeño de Educación Superior (ENLACES), convocan al cuarto encuentro preparatorio hacia la Conferencia Regional de Educación Superior (CRES+5). Este encuentro preparatorio se celebrará en la Ciudad de La Habana, Cuba, los días 7 y 8 de febrero de 2024, en el marco del Congreso Universidad 2024.

Esta cuarta reunión preparatoria de la CRES+5 servirá para profundizar los temas planteados en la CRES 2018, así como analizar el resultado de los debates correspondientes a los encuentros preparatorios que le precedieron en Córdoba, Puebla y Paraguay, con miras a consensuar una agenda para la educación superior en América Latina y el Caribe que contribuya a la preparación de la CRES+5. 

Con el apoyo de UNESCO IESALC, diversos grupos de trabajo han preparado los borradores de los documentos de trabajo de los distintos ejes temáticos de la CRES+5. En el encuentro de La Habana estos borradores serán presentados y discutidos.
