South-South Inter-generational Dialogue: Partnerships to promote innovative education

25 April, 2023 hora: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

To truly innovate in education, we need to move beyond traditional teacher-centered pedagogy and empower learners to be active participants in their educational journeys. This requires multi-level and multi-stakeholder partnerships, from the classroom to policy-level, involving teachers, learners, educational administrators, policymakers, and other stakeholders. Strengthening the means of implementation and revitalizing global partnerships for sustainable development, as outlined in SDG17, is at the core of the current efforts to prioritize SDG4 -quality education-, following the accelerated transformations and inequalities brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in the Global South, where learners have been mostly affected by educational disruptions.

Exploring the connections between SDG4 and SDG17 within the broader context of innovation, the upcoming South-South Inter-generational Dialogue will provide insights on how to foster partnerships in the Global South to promote innovative, inclusive, quality, and accessible education for everyone.

The event will gather both youth representatives and education partners (academia, public sector, and international organizations) to share experiences and practices on innovative learning in different national and regional contexts within the Global South and identify common challenges and opportunities for collaboration among multilevel partners. It will also be a unique opportunity for youth representatives to express what support is needed from higher education institutions and other educational stakeholders to engage in innovative learning practices and build a collaborative educational system.

This South-South Inter-generational Dialogue will be hosted as a side event at the United Nations Economic and Social Council Youth Forum 2023. Join this powerful gathering of youth leaders and other partners and connect with us!
