IAU-WAHEN | Equitable Access and Success in Higher Education: Mapping the Future Agenda

11 October, 2022 hora: 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

On October 11 , 2022 from 12.30 to 14.00 UTC (14.30 – 16.00 CEST), the International Association of Universities (IAU) and the World Access to Higher Education Network (WAHEN) will bring together policymakers, researchers and university leaders from across the world to examine the challenges to tackle to advance equity in access and success in higher education.

As we emerge from the height of the pandemic, new and old challenges risk forcing equity down the list of institutional and government priorities. How much can we expect inequalities in access and success to change if how we deliver higher education, admit students and make policy remains the same? Is more radical change needed?

The Director of UNESCO IESALC, Francesc Pedró, along with Vivienne Lawack, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic of the University of the Western Cape; Graeme Atherton, from WAHEN and the University of West London and Ninoslav Šćukanec Schmidt, from the Chair of the BFUG Working Group on Social Dimension, will bring together new research, examples of institutional innovation and international collaboration to identify good global practices to push the equity boundaries forward.
